PSHE & Relationship
At Gatton Primary School, Personal, Social, Health & Relationships Education is at the core of our religious ethos and values and it radiates throughout our curriculum from PSHRE lessons, assembly themes and our unique CHES drivers (Community, Healthy lives, Environment and Spirituality).
The national body for Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE Association), identify three core themes to promote pupils to be healthy, safe and prepared for modern life.
The three themes are:
-
Health and wellbeing
-
Relationships
-
Living in the wider world (British values & Economic wellbeing)
At Gatton primary school, we have adopted these themes as an integral part of our PSHE curriculum and designed a bespoke curriculum that meets the needs of our learners, equips them with key knowledge and skills and provides them with the tools that they require for life long success.
Through our school CHES drivers, we provide meaningful opportunities for pupils to implement their PSHE skills in their everyday lives e.g. making healthy choices, community cohesion, diversity and sustainability (See CHES curriculum).
The three themes are visited each academic year and are of a progressive nature where pupils learn important concepts within the appropriate year groups.
Our PSHE and Relationships Policy can be found on our Policies page.
